# Domain Rating Changes from Dated Observations | Vaneform

Compare recorded Domain Rating observations for the same measured host scope. Inspect actual dates, score changes and website context with free early access.

## Compare actual observations of link strength

Domain Rating is Ahrefs’ relative backlink-profile strength measure on a 0–100 scale. This tool compares recorded observations for the same measured host scope, keeping their actual source dates. Two comparable dates are needed to calculate a change.

Enter a domain to inspect its available history or use the bounded collection to screen changing domains. The existing observation pipeline accumulates dated facts. A site with one measurement remains a starting observation until another comparable date is recorded.

## A calculation example and its research context

For a teaching example, two same-scope observations of DR 20 and DR 30 yield a change of +10. Keep both dates with that change, then inspect the site’s traffic, topic and public pages before choosing it as a competitor or link prospect. This example illustrates the calculation.
